THE ID CLASSICS PRIZE 1993

The "Bekkasin" stove has been manufactured for over 60 years and must be regarded as a veteran product.

The stove is a cheap way to heat dwellings in both rural and urban districts.
It is possible to connect it up to the same chimney as an oil furnace. Bekkasin mainly works by means of convection heat, meaning that air is heated by passing through a cavity between the innercombustion chamber and the outer chambers. This produces better distribution of the heat and more comfortable heating.

The door and valve and their mountings are in cast iron. The chimney pipe comes in several widths and lengths in relation to the size of the four Bekkasin stoves that exist and they can be taken apart. The three legs, also made of folded iron sheets, can also be taken apart.

The stove has been designed to be filled from
above. It can be very efficiently utilized and only has to emptied a few times a year.

The effect of the stove is right up to 80% according to the Technological Institute, and it is very clean.

The Classics Prize has most frequently been awarded to manufacturers who are internationally known for outer design and original construction.

This time we have the pleasure of paying homage to original and effective construction and, on the basis of criteria of simplicity and sensible economy, to a quite anonymous quality product.
