BRIEF SUMMARY
The Bekkasin woodstove is well known and established throughout Scandinavia. It is a "no nonsense" stove developed by the Danish Heath Association, whose aim was to produce a stove with rapid heating qualities, and a high efficiency. The Bekkasin will in fact burn for 12 hours on a full load. The Bekkasin has a double walled sheet-iron construction. The stove is oval in shape, and supported on 3 feet. The loading hole, ventilation controland chimney are all located on the top of the stove. The deposit of ash on the floor of the stove, provides insulation from below, and avoids the need for a grate or bricks. Depending on the type of wood to be burnt, the ash needs to be removed between 2 and 4 times a year only.BEKKASINEN NR. 1:
